Small Groups

Summer Small Group

We are better together.  Taking steps to build your faith and to build relationships beyond Sunday morning is an opportunity to learn about and practice Jesus’ command to His Church to both be disciples and make disciples. Being a disciple of Christ means that we follow Him, that we are changed by Him, and that we are committed to His mission to save people from their sins. As disciples, we engage with head, heart, and hands in following Jesus both within and beyond our church walls to where we live and work and play.

What are some possible topics/studies for current or emerging small groups?

Sunday Sermon Small Groups
“Digesting the Word” Small Groups
(Sermon Study)

In order to benefit from food, it is important to chew it carefully and digest it thoroughly. It is this way with the sustenance provided by God’s Word. Jesus compares God’s Word to the importance of physical bread when he says, “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every work that proceeds from the mouth of God.” Again, he says, “The words that I speak to you are Spirit and Life.” This food image is also present in God’s instructions to Ezekiel. “’Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it.’ So, I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.” We encourage you to be further strengthened for God’s service by becoming a part of a “Digesting the Word” small group.

Who:  Continue with your Lenten small group, or add more people to your Lenten small group, or start a new small group with a designated leader.  If you don’t already have a small group, this is a great opportunity to CONNECT and join in! All are welcome.

What: Use the following to chew, digest and apply the week’s scripture and sermon.  Groups will be meeting online until Covid-19 related restrictions are lifted.

Read the scripture passages from the week’s Sunday’s Worship Service and reflect on the sermon and on these questions to help you live out God’s Word in your everyday life.  Or, use these questions in your Naz Small Group to discuss and apply each week’s scripture and sermon!
~What does this passage teach you about who God is?
~What are the personal implications (for you)?
~What does this mean for the Church as a whole?
~How did this passage and sermon challenge or encourage you?
~What questions do you have about this topic?

When: Six weeks starting in June, or at an agreed upon time by your small group.
